TRAIL 2 - HOW DO I FREE MEMORY?

Hi there, I have a Trail 2 cycle.  I plan to cycle the Camino way in May but I don't have the storage space for all the maps I need.  How do I create memory space or do a factory reset that gives me back the original storage space please?  I need about 12 Gb, I try to delete maps and routes on my Mac in Finder but it seems that doesn't free storage.  Grateful for any help please.

  I'm not a Mac expert, but it seems to me that with a Mac deleting a file does not free up the corresponding memory space. Look in the Mac instructions for how to recover the memory space of deleted files... Or use a PC with Window.. Ah those Macs.... Or limit the onboard map volume, your GPS is 16 Go I believe the recent ones are 32 GB
