Land allows you to use the information available on a vector map to automatically create a track. It is a very simple function, but to make it possible, the vector map you are working on must be "routable", meaning it must contain network information that can be used for automatic route calculation. The maps OSM and TomTom are "routable" maps, and you can also create your own.
Create a route with FastTrack
To create a track with FastTrack, follow these steps:
1 - Locate the starting point of the route, right-click and select 'New > Start new track here'. A window will appear where you can choose the name, sport, and color for the new track. At this point, the first track point will be created, and the track editing toolbar will open.
2 - In the track editing toolbar, click on the 'FastTrack' tool button.
3 - You will now see arrows at each intersection. Each arrow indicates a direction to choose. Select which path you want to follow at each intersection.
4 - Repeat the same action at each intersection until you reach your destination.
5 - You can also create the track directly in one step by pressing the 'Control' key while selecting the destination. Land will calculate the fastest route and generate the entire track from the last track point to the selected destination.
6 - Once you are done, click the 'Finish Editing' button in the track editing toolbar.
"FastTrack to here" function
While creating a track, if you right-click and select the 'FastTrack to here' option, Land will attempt to automatically calculate the route to that point based on map information or other open tracks. It is not necessary to have the 'FastTrack' tool activated.
Important: To use this function, a routable vector map such as OSM or TomTom and a TwoNav subscription are required.
FastTrack feature settings
Various aspects of track creation with FastTrack can be configured from the 'File > Preferences > Tracks > FastTrack Editing' menu. Available options include:
-
Automatically add maneuver points. When using FastTrack, calculated maneuvers will be added to the map as roadbook points.
-
Allow streets in the opposite direction. One-way streets can be traversed in both directions.
-
Restrictions by road type. Allow highways, toll roads, dirt roads, or ferries.
