Strava offers online servers that show heat maps for the cycling and running activities of its users.
Now these maps are available on Land and the TwoNav app:
- Land: Data tree > Online files > Online maps > World
- TwoNav app: Menu > Maps > Online files button > Online maps > World
When you open one, you’ll see marks indicating the activities of Strava users such that the busiest locations will be darker.
This gives you an idea of the routes preferred by others and can be used to complement information from topographic maps or orthophotos, since they have a transparent background and can be overlaid on other maps.
Plus, if a local map is created using the Land selection tool , the map will be generated with the two layers superimposed. The resulting map can be transferred to the App or to other TwoNav GPS devices for use during outings (more info).
Note: The servers containing this data are run by outside parties, meaning that TwoNav cannot guarantee their correct operation.
