TwoNav’s smartphone app can send and receive files in different ways:
- USB connection (Android only)
- FTP/Wi-Fi connection (iOS only)
- By internet
Transfer over USB (Android)
When you connect the Android device to the computer with a USB cable, you have to specify on the device the type of connection that allows file browsing, normally Mass Storage or File Transfer (MTP).
Once connected, the device will appear on the Land data tree and you will be able to transfer files as usual.
Transfer over FTP/Wi-Fi (iOS)
The TwoNav app for iOS allows activating the FTP-WiFi connection mode to let you transfer files between the device and the computer.
Important: both devices have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Steps:
1. Activate FTP/Wi-Fi on the TwoNav iOS app: ‘Menu > Settings > Communications > FTP-WiFi’.
The device can now be connected using the settings shown on the screen.
2. Connect Land to iOS: ‘Menu > Devices’ and use the access settings from the previous step.
3. The device will appear on the Land data tree and you will be able to transfer files as usual.
Note: Devices can be also connected and files transferred via FTP/Wi-Fi by using FTP clients like FileZilla instead of Land.
File transfer via internet
The TwoNav app offers access to third-party services so you can transfer files without having to connect to another device.
On the list of files (maps, tracks, routes, waypoints) you’ll find an ‘online’ button that will let you access various services, such as:
- Online maps
- Route downloads (GPSies, TraceGPS, etc.)
- Personal storage services (Dropbox), IGN Rando)
Note: These online services are usually provided by third parties. As a result, TwoNav cannot guarantee that they will work correctly every time.
