We explain with a real case how to plan a route from ZERO to PRO
I'm Lee García and I've been in the GPS world for over 30 years and route planning. I use GPS in all the sports I practice, whether it's hiking, MTB, paragliding, or even sailing navigation.
I'm going to introduce you to the world of preparing and creating a route from scratch with the help of Land. You'll see that you don't need to be a professional to create authentic routes that will make your outings more fun and safe adventures.
Once installed Land, it is important to get a good cartographic base, so we can study the area on which we are going to create our route. In this example, we are going to create a hiking route in the area of the Garrotxa volcanoes, an area near Barcelona in Spain.
Garrotxa is a spectacular area surrounded by volcanoes and wooded areas to discover. I've been wanting to go on an excursion for a while since I barely know it, and I've read comments about its spectacular landscapes, especially in autumn, although this route can be done in any time of the year, in my case, I'll do it in winter.
The example I'll show you is a case from a specific area of Spain although you can follow the same steps to plan any route in other areas you want to explore. Choose an area of your choice, the steps to prepare your route will be the same as I'll explain below. During the preparation, you can add more or fewer elements to your route although I recommend you to add all the elements that I'll add, so you'll get practice and gradually create your routes faster.
I'm sure you'll have fun while having your route fully under control for the day you go on your excursion, and you'll hardly encounter surprises or unforeseen events.
Shall we go?
