Roadbooks are a tool often used in motorsports and orienteering to navigate uncertain terrain, as they contain directions for orienteering and navigation. Generally, they consist of several pages with diagrams, GPS coordinates and written instructions to help your navigation...
Digital Roadbooks contain all this information in digital format without the need to read directions on paper... when navigating the GPS will show you all the maneuvers on the screen. With them you can have fun and enjoy nature outdoors in complete safety.
Tool utility
The many advantages of using Roadbooks for navigation are:
- Orientation when navigating a route
- Know what maneuvers you must perform at all times
- See a point of interest to visit (Hermitage, fountain, good views...)
- View a danger or caution point on the route
- Open images and enriched descriptions attached to a point on the route
Tool functioning
To create a Roadbook from Land you need a track and descriptions and images for the points of the route:
1- Open the track.
2- On the toolbar, click the 'Track Creation & Edition' button:
3- Press the 'Add roadbook point' button on the track editor toolbar:
4- A window will open for you to indicate the basic data of the point you are going to create:
5- Next you must move the roadbook point and click on the point on the track where you want to locate it:
6- Repeat this action for each point in the Roadbook that you want to highlight.
7- Save the resulting file in *.TRK format and you will have your Roadbook created.
8- If you want all the attached files to be saved compressed in the same file, save it in *.BTRK format, with which it will be easier for you to share it with third parties.
IMPORTANT: Don't delete the Roadbook file in *.TRK format, you must always keep this file as the file in *.BTRK format cannot be edited. So if you want to change anything later, you'll need to open and modify the *.TRK file and then save it back in *.BTRK format.
