Problem with Go Cloud sync

    Hello ,

The solution from an other user,

NO, GoCloud has been working very, very well for several months.

The most likely is that you have previously tried to clean up your ROUTE or ACTIVITIES files by manually removing one or more files without using the Land menus of the GPS or the app to do this operation (You must have used the file manager which was a solution before last summer but is no longer). So your log no longer conforms to existing files.

To resolve this fault, you must delete the Synchronization logs with your file manager, then restart Land and your GPS. The logs will be reconstructed and consistent with your files.

Be careful when restarting, synchronization can take time, let it happen.

The log is the file "nuvol_data.twondb" which is in the latest version of Land in C:\ProgramData\TwoNav Land 971, for the Window version (If you have a MAC, no idea before it was in.. ../data since the Mac versions are no longer updated it must be in the /data) and for the GPS it was in .../APP Data, it is subject to reservation I have not looked since the latest updates.

You may need to destroy both logs, depending on what you did to cause this blockage.

For the future, above all, only use the GPS and Land menus to remove obsolete files from GoCloud. The folders will remain as an empty shell, when the folder or sub-folder is empty of synchronized tracks which does not mean that it is empty there may remain other files, but it appears empty on the GPS (or the app). )

    Best Regards

    Dear Thierry,

Thank you very much for the detailed response. I managed to resolve the problem in my GPS, but the Land still won't sync. I can't find the log file in the Twonav Land directory. I have installed the latest version 9.7.1. Any ideas?

    Hello,

The "C:\ProgramData" folder is a window hidden folder, you must make it visible by checking an option in your file manager menu (Show hidden folder or file).

Then the log for LAND 971 was moved from the Land data space (c:/user/document/..../..) to the folder "C:\ProgramData\TwoNav Land 971". On my PC the LAND folders are LAND 971 (There are 3 in three different spaces), with you I can't know, because it's you who may or may not have named the folder in the process of the menu. installation (third dialog box where you are asked to define the installation path).

It is preferable for each version during installation to define the folder by adding the version index after ....../LAND xxx. Your new version will thus coexist with the old one which can be removed later with uninstall.

The log is the file "nuvol_data.twondb" which is in the latest version of Land in C:\ProgramData\TwoNav Land 971.

    Best regards

    Dear Thierry,

Yes, it works - both on my Cross and in Land! Thank you so much!!!

As a general note, the whole procedure looks quite frustrating and cumbersome to me - it is much easier to rename and otherwise manage the files through File Explorer than in the tiny Cross menu and user-evil Land interface. Hope that the developers pick up this issue in their future updates. Would you agree?

    Hello Daniel,

I don't think it's evolving, GoCloud now seems mature, and successful.

GoCloud is new, which is not specific to TwoNav, I also use it (an equivalent) with other devices. As with anything new, you inevitably have to adapt and change your working methods.

I adapted my method of use, it works quite well and allows me to always have the same version shared.

    On the main lines :

    • With Land you remove the current version of GoCloud, it's easy to do.
    • You make your adjustments if necessary with Land or other software (easier to work with a larger screen),
    • Once completed, you send everything on GoCloud to your devices (Same version that is shared)

Keep only the minimum in the GPS memory, the reverse does not make much sense and complicates use due to the size of the screen.

The advantage, same version, same condition and same classification everywhere.

The current version is well finished.

Thanks Thierry, extremely helpful tips! One question - what do you mean by removing the current version of GoCloud? Do I have control over the cloud version, and where is this option in Land?

Ok, I understand what you mean - deleting the current version of the track on GoCloud. Thanks again, very much appreciated!

Go slowly with test examples to fully understand the mechanisms.
