Navigation mode - Screen
Dear community,
I have an issue as follows:
Use case: I navigate along a predefined route. In navigation mode (Aventura 2020, Firmware 4.8.0) I turned the info "Next waypoint" on which shows me the name of the next waypoint (in my route) and - in an extra little box on the top left of the screen - the distance to the next waypoint (see screenshot attached). In this little box there is also a huge arrow where I first thought it would show me the direction to the next waypoint. But it does not. The arrow turns to just any direction randomly and I did not recognize any sense behind it so far. I do not find anything in the user manual either.
Additionally you can see a little green flag: where does it come from and what does it mean?
Is there anything I could configure for this? Honestly I do not need the direction to the next waypoint (if this would be the functioanlity behind it). My preference would be to see the compass in this box.
Plus: the box is huge...but the distance is shown in a really small font. Sometimes hard to read.
Would be great to get a hint. Thanks

Hello
In your profile menu configuration you have checked the box:
Configuration / Activity profile / map view / signpost (5.1.6.6 of the manual) next event.Either you would have preferred something else, the compass why not but I don't see the point!
The management of this arrow:
- Distance to the next Wpt (RoadBook or RTE type road), this indication works correctly and is very useful,
- The arrow is supposed to give direction of the next WPT. It was correctly handled with TwoNav 3.x now it is no longer the case although it has improved a lot in 4.8. So in 4.8 if you use Wpt, or a * .rte format file it works almost "correctly", with a * .trk file on a RoadBook type track it is almost usable. For a pure trace or a gpx I have not tried it since 4.7.As it stands (this is an observation) it gives, either the direction of the next WPT, or the direction of the next RoadBook point, or the direction to follow to join directly the track ... Near a WPT, in the circle of capture it remains towards the WPT, so a past faith is in the back.
It was perfect in TN 3.x since 4.x unfortunately it's not ideal. The small icon next to it is the icon (your choice!) of the next point.
Concretely if it was well managed ..
- You have the distance to the next point of change of direction,
- You would have the direction to reach this point (Either the direction to follow with a correctly used compass),
- you have the icon you have chosen for the following Wpt (anticipation)By placing a WPT on each change of direction, these three indications are enough to navigate quickly, without spending time reading the map.
Good hikes
