Twonav Link App
Hello community,
I am using an Aventura 2 in connection with my mobile phone. Link App is installed, I can see that the app is connected with the GPS (visible in both the mobile and the GPS).
I can upload tracks from the mobile phone to the GPS - this is great.
The other way round I do not get anything: no missed calls, no SMS, no Whatapp messages are shown or displayed. I don't know what else I could try. In the App the flag "Benachrichtigungen erlauben" (sorry, it is a German installation, not sure what the English translation in the App would be, someting like "Allow notifications") is set. In the GPS configuration I enabled all (missed calls, Whatsapp, SMS). When I receive an incoming call or a Whatsapp message or a SMS simply nothing happens...
Can someone give me hint?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Gert,
(I keep on writing in English, maybe we have a larger audience...)
Very strange. I mean, they promote this App with some really basic functions (other Apps can do much more, e.g. Garmin) but even this basic functionality does not work properly...Is there anyone out there in the comunity where this works?

Hi Dsur,
ok, some guys seems to have success to get notifications to work.

I have followed the procedure described there without success.

Thanks, but unfortunately my French is not good enough...maybe someone could translate the important part into English...
remark: I manaegd to get a Whatsapp on my Aventura today...I did not change anything compared to yesterday but today it works. Missed calls and SMS are still not showing up on the GPS though.

It say (helped by Google translate) :
Again,
insisting
Notifications now work even outside of activities.
I have :
Phone:
- updated my version of Android
I lifted some app authorization refusals (sms and whatsapp) that could appear to interfere with the broadcast on the smartphone
and then the GPS
- reinstall the Twonavlink app
And it works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Un user
Best regards

well, it works for me too finally
although notifications are allowed in link, it didn't work
So I paired my phone and the GPS again, during this manipulation a message in link appears asking if we allow notifications
I answered yes and since then it works
A priori, even if we validate in link the notifications after that does not work if we did not do it during the pairing

I did all of this, I removed the app completely; I removed the device from my bluetooth connections completely and reinstalled everything but it still does not show missed calls or SMS. Whatsapp I can see now so in priciple it seems to work. The link app gets notifications from Android but only for Whatsapp, not for missed calls or SMS.
I do not know what to do. I opened a ticket with twonav support, let's hope they find a solution.
Meanwhile - if anyone has another idea - you are nost welcome to post it here! Thanks to all!

Hello,
On my SmartPhone, it didn't work. I reinstalled it to make sure I had the latest version. Then I was in Android to lift all notification permissions to LINK.
That done I saw my notifications appear (I'm not a big fan of this thing, I prefer to go out without a link to this crazy world) but it still allowed me to come back home quickly, the day the delivery man came a day in advance, since Link I look at it in a mixed way.
LINK's problem is not just limited to this bug! Link falls asleep although the app is "active" it remains inert you either have to go to the parameter to disconnect it and reconnect to wake it up, or go through the menus to modify the choices () which seems to wake it up.
Even after returning from an outing, the list of activities is not systematically updated. You have to do the above operations to see this list update.
It is in fact a gadget that has little use, a box for sale against the competition, can easily do without. Moreover LINK is quickly unusable, because saturated by a list of unusable tracks (road), because too many on a SmartPhone screen, everything goes there whether it is in the Cloud or not, suddenly we only see the roads. useful and the rest is missing (* .rte; * .wpt)!
I just answered on the method which allowed me to obtain the notifications, Android (which is far from being the reference in terms of use and user-friendliness) was blocking notifications to TwoNav.
Regards
Thierry
