LAND 9 for MAC - Do not buy
Land for MAC has never been a decent application (I do not have any experience with Land for Windows).
Land 9, just released, is the worst ever version. Bugs come by the thousands, multiple functions and commands just do not work, the application crashes frequently. I have installed it on MAC OSX 10.13 (High Sierra, INTEL MAC) and on MAC OS 12.1 (Monterey, M1 'silicon' MAC) : bugs galore on both.
My advice : if you have Land8 Premium (just as I do), stay with it (it's bad but you can still do some work). Do not upgrade to Land 9 ! You'll save money and many an irritation.

Land 9 for Window is identical.
What is more serious, is that it is necessary to use version 8.9.2 to obtain a correct operation. After uninstalling Land 9 with uninstall, otherwise the Land 8.9.2 version risks taking the imprint of Land 9 and some faults persist. The defects accumulate since the switch to 64 bits, hence the need to return to 32 bits, after a complete cleaning of all traces of Land on the PC.

What is frustrating is that the intended functionality of LAND (what it is announced as being able to do) is really ambitious and superb. But CompeGPS, after a quick development of a tiny embryo many years ago, has given the responsibility of its farther development and maintenance to a (ever changing) bunch of people (may be one single person working part-time 1 week / year) who do not have any idea of what computer programming and application development is (at least for the MAC platform, again I do not have any experience with Land for Windows).
The support team do what they can which is to say nothing. They obviously do not have access to the development team (which I doubt exists), cannot escalate problems, they don't even have access to a MAC to try and reproduce the malfunctions that are reported. The only thing they do is to respond (they do) that "there are problems with the MAC version, all will be solved in the next version" (my foot ! The next version is always worse than the previous one). And then they do not fail to send you an inquiry to check whether you are satisfied with their performance ! Appalling, pitiful.
And then CompeGPS, from time to time, issue a new version which is purely a marketing and money-making operation. It's on the fringe of illegality.
I will follow the advice given above and try to revert to Land8 (after cleaning-up the mess that version 9 must have left all over the place). Getting a refund of the 39.00 € that I have paid for it is probably going to be a little harder :)
Cheers !

Interesting to see that you can start Land9, how did you come that far? When I'm trying to start Land9.1.2 on my MacMini end2014 with MacOS 12.4 it quits with the message "Error in dlopen: dlopen(/Applications/Land.app/Contents/Resources/plugins/CompePlugIn_png.so, 0x0002): tried: '/Applications/Land.app/Contents/Resources/plugins/CompePlugIn_png.so' (no such file) /Applications/Land.app/Contents/Resources/plugins/CompePlugIn_png.so"
Seems a rather packaged dead-end to me but definitely makes following your advice easy :)
Sticking to my Land7 for now.
