Aventura 2 (5.1.7.) Crash on connecting running GPS to PC
I found that the GPS crashes when it is running and later connected to the PC.
Symptoms:
Sand-timer on display for ever. No reaction to touch or key input.
Does not recover after disconnect. Needs a reset by holding power button for about 10 sec.
After doing so, the SD-card file system is corrupted and needs to be fixed externally.
With FW 5.1.8 the GPS still crashes when connected while turned on.
However with FW 5.1.8 connecting the GPS while off, will allow full access to GPS, it's memory (built-in as well as SD-card) show up as mass storage devices.

Hello,
A priori the GPS are not designed to work when they are connected to a laptop. It is best to turn them OFF before connecting them to a laptop. Seen from a laptop, the GPS is a simple "USB key". The GPS in operation, while it is connected to a laptop computer implies that the memory of the GPS will be shared by the processor of the PC and the processor of the GPS, therefore a potential source of conflicts (access, overwriting of files, etc.. .). Before removing the cable (disconnecting the GPS) you must use the EJECT command of the file manager, to avoid that there remain aggregates of files created by the computer in the memory of the GPS.
