Not sure about how your device is configured.

You can store your 50k UK maps on a backup storage (probably the content of the folder /maps/ on your Trail2). Make sure to backup/store EVERY *.mkey & *.mkeyb you find on the device too. If the backup is done correctly the 50k maps (*.rmap/*.rtmap) can be deleted on the device to provide the space for the 25k maps. If you need them again, just copy them back from the backup location.

    Hello,

This raises the question, where is the point of installing the 1/25,000 or 1/50,000 map of a complete country in a GPS, but apart from saturating the memory or creating this kind of problem.

You plan to travel all the paths and trails of your country, it is a possibility but your life will not be enough!

There is another more responsible alternative, which consists of loading for Land (or an equivalent) PC or Mac this map which covers the country in order to be able to prepare itineraries throughout the territory, and not to load it into the GPS as the map tiles that covers your future adventure.

    The advantages of this solution:

    - There is no more hassle with the memory volume,
    - If the user arranges himself well he will always have the most up-to-date map in his GPS,
    - It costs less, we gain a few Liras or Euros, especially for those who install zero-cost cards in Land.

    Best regards

My Trail 2 has aproximately 30GB of available space, that should be sufficient for OS UK 25k. Other Trail 2 models have only 12 GB free.

PS: To help you further a two way conversation is necessary. I'm sick of this (modern) tendency to ask for help and not coming back and answer questions.

    Hi Uwe,
Thanks for your comments, do you know if the 12Gb version was sold under the Ordnance Survey licence in the UK, or is it just to do with a newer version of the Trail 2?

    Hello,

The 12Gb version is only for the first version (Sold the first year) then all Trail 2  have 30 Gb.

    Best regards

Thanks friends, following all of this advice I have deleted my full UK coverage at 1:50 and now reloading with 1:25 for mountainous areas and 1:50 for lowland.
TwoNav have been very helpful by enabling me to move 1:50 tiles to the cloud and then reload selected regions only.
Optimised GPS for UK now 👍
