Display specific OSM objects in imported maps
Hi,
the OSM database includes much more information then displayed in LAND Software, when you load an *.osm file. How is it possible to display specific objects in LAND from OSM for example: "fire hydrant" as show on http://openfiremap.org/.
The goal is to have a osm map layer only with specific objects on top of an LAND TOP25 map.
I really look forward to hear from you.

As said by Twolandnaviste, if you want to display different objects with Land, you must use a vector map like VMAP type.
So it is then necessary to export OSM objects in a vector map. VMAP type should not be proposed, maybe shapefile type is possible.
If you can get a such map, Land can read shapefile file and converts it to its own vector map type.
But if OSM objects are only points, like "fire hydrant", it would be possible to export them as waypoints and Land can read a such format and displays, or not, these waypoints.

Hi Joe and Roland,
Joe, when you are with your link, how do export the map
Do you want only your city ?

I do not found how to have the map... Do you know that ?
I went to another site OpenStreetmap. I exported a .osm map but I do not find "fire hydrand".
https://www.openstreetmap.org/export#map=15/53.5232/10.3163

This map exported and openned with Land do not give the layer you want. Is it a specific layer or an OpenStreet map for firefighters ?
Above the map I got...

Best regards

Hi Roland and Twolandnaviste,
thanks for your time and feedback!
@Roland: I will give it a tray to export the fire hydrants in a LAND supported file type from OSM. But this is an extra step which I want to avoid :-).
@Twolandnaviste:
Wow, you really put a lot of effort in this case - thanks! I am not sure, how deep you are into OSM. OSM is a DATABASE which contains all the geo information, not a static (vector) map. Everyone can use the database to "render" a map with an osm-server, with for your map purpose showing information. On your own osm-server you can choose what information should be displayed in what kind of style. So the guys from openfiremap.org configured there server to show the firehydrants which are in the osm-database. Other guys set their osm-server to show helpful information for mountain bikes, for example tracks and trails, which are also not shown on the "normal" osm-server.
To see what I mean, you can open openstreetmap.org (the official osm-server) as shown on your screenshot and enable the checkbox on the right "Donnes de carte". You then get all information stored in the osm-database displayed. In Aumühle, you can see the circles on the streets, this are the fire hydrants stored in the osm-database. :-)
So, now the question is, is there a possibility in LAND to configure (for example in a config-file) what POIs you can choose form OSM on the left side. There must be a way, to link the attributes form LAND to OSM. The guys who write the code for LAND should be able to answer the question ;-)
I look forward to hear from you.
Best wishes

Hi,
Somewhere in one of these two pages, it is writting that there is a GPX file or the possiblity to have it...
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenFireMap#GPX
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:emergency%3Dfire_hydrant
But I was unable to find where and how to get the file.
May be you read English better than me..... May be you have to send a email to somebody of OpenStreet...

I do not find fire hydrants with LAND ! But they are in the map !
I have open the map I've downloaded with NotePad++ and fire hydrants are inside....

It seems Land is not programmed to display all layers of a map but only if those are usefull for road and outdoor activities.
Best regards
