Disable POI display on Aventura 2

Hi,

 

I like to use the Aventura 2 for cycling in the city. The vector maps, however, are cluttered with useless POI symbols and I cannot even see the underlying street.

Is there a way to disable the POI display altogether? I searched up and down but have not found any hint. I did see that the smartphone app seems to have such an option, but not the GPS device.

 

Any help is appreciated

    First: Enabled or Disabled the layers

    Then, save the new "layer setting"

     

    Put the layers setting file (nameofmap.clay) in the same path that the map

    If it doesn't work with Land 9, you have to use Land 8

    Example..for french city Reims

    Before

    After

    It is not possible with all Land 9 Version

    Does this change the visualization on the GPS device as well? Do I need to transfer that map?

    Thierrys answer is preferable, since it allows to do it individual map dependend.

    If you don't have Land, you could try this, though I didn't test it:

    gps.ini

    [Mapa]

    ShowPOIs_on_Map=0

    Hallo Henning,

    wenn du uns den Namen der Karte sagst, könnten wir dir evtl. ein solches CLAY erstellen und zur Verfügung stellen. Das müssten dann aber in dem von Uwe erwähnten Forum sein, da hier keine Anhänge möglich sind.

    I used the mod of the gps.ini for now as I do not have a PC/Mac around currently.

    Gert/Uwe, vielen Dank, ich gehe mal durch den verlinkten Eintrag und schaue ob ich eine später Land 8 version installiere.

    I get your frustration with the POIs on the Aventura 2. Unfortunately, there’s no option to disable them. Have you checked the settings thoroughly?

    Also, if you're interested, you could try an "iq test free online" for some fun!
