Recording Interval "Automatic" is broken

There seems to be no difference between "Automatic" recording interval and recording by time/1 sec. A track of 24:35 minutes has 1478 points recorded.  As comparison: A unit from a competitor does only record 152 points for the same track without loosing significant details.

Further more this issue will result into day recordings that are too large to be reloaded on the unit in an acceptable time.

The only workaround so far is a larger fixed time interval. However this performs poorly on direction changes, loosing a lot of  information.

That's why I would really appreciate a well working automatic recording mode.

  it's really a shame that my old Garmin 60csx(2005 !!!) had a good working automatic mode but all CompeGPS Device from 2009 to today only has this buggy one.
