Land 8.9.3 for Mac does not accept changes to data folder structure
Hi!
I have an issue with Land 8.9.3 on MacOS 11.0.1 "Big Sur".
Whatever I put into the "Folder" settings is lost and overwritten with the defaults after re-starting Land:
Any clues how to get this fixed? I tried and modified the gps.ini in Library/Application Support/Land8 directly, to no avail.
Thank you!

Hi Mark.
Same issue, but on Windows. It seems a pointless feature (choosing/reassigning the default folders); Land sticks to Documents/CompeGPS no matter.
It annoys me as I would like ot have all mapping data in a single place (not on Windows location) and not having Windows deciding for me. Another reason is that once Windows gets corrupted it will be a high chance to lose all your data.
Cheers,

Hello,
Yes it can be complicated depending on the history of your PC, it seems to me that you have to do a little cleaning and it should become correct again.
Let me explain, Land saves your settings in a gps.ini file, when closing Land so you must do a save before exiting (If you make unsaved changes the open GPS.ini is not updated, after closing on the next reboot it starts again as if you had done nothing!).
Then there are several GPS.ini on your PC, one in the data space (...Document/compegps/backup ) which is used on reboot and one in C:/programdata/land ).
According to the history if you have a version of land for a long time it is scattered everywhere (the day I did the cleaning, on my PC I counted 6, there were everywhere!)
The ideal is for each new version to install land in a path /Land followed by the version index, to clean up the programdata space, the installation will create a clean GPS.ini instead of copying / amending the old one.
So to solve this problem, you must list all the GPS.ini existing on your PC
Keep only the one in /ProgramData, delete the one in Document/compegps/backup. Delete all gpsni.back. Land must obviously be closed during this manipulation. Then open the GPS.ini of the programdata with a text editor and clean the paths, correct those that point to old installations for example or old configurations example of Land 7 if you have stacked your updates.
Open Land, it will start again
Best regards
