    Hello,

Sorry for not being able to do more, but Link 1.2.1 works very well with my SmartPhone and my Trail 2 GPS (5.2.5) .

Is your Smartphone android system ??? I guess so ......

The notification of phone calls, sms and messages occurs in any condition or only if the Trail 2 is outdoors and receives a GPS signal ??

This is the only condition I have left to try.

    Yes it's Android 12

Notifications and calls, this is not the primary function I am looking for, but I have noticed during my outings since the LINK 1.2 update that messages and notifications are viewed by the GPS, outside of an outing I have not never try, the GPS is in principle OFF.

I use LINK, especially to transmit files (GPX or TRK or Wpt see Rte) to the GPS, and make the link with the CLOUD. This function now works correctly with Link 1.2, you can even pass gpx file formats that are refused by the GO CLOUD.

For me it would be important to be able to view sms and calls on Trail2.
I have a friend who has it and they are displayed to him without problems, but he has an Apple smartphone.
It is a real shame to have to give up this function.
QUESTION: if I record a track with Trail2 ....... is it possible to pass it on a Smartphone ?? Or you can extract the track from Trail2 only with GO or Computer ???

A priori, the display of alerts and messages work.

I don't know what type of SmartPhone you have but with some Chinese brand SmartPhones there may be problems, it is the consequence of a veto from the US linked to the transfer of technology, these SmartPhones if I understood correctly do not don't have access to Google tech, (and probably other tech) it's not impossible that it can block messages.

My SmartPhone is not a Chinese brand.

"if I record a track with Trail2.......is it possible to transmit it to a Smartphone"

Yes, you just need to be in WiFi zone, you will see the same thing on the LINK screen as on the GO Cloud page, and it can be shared.

If you link a storage space to your CLOUD Perso, when you open these files your SmartPhone offers you LINK which allows you to send a track directly to the GPS.

    Thank you for the answers.

I have a Huawei smartphone, but being Mate20 (old model) it works perfectly with all Google features.

The question I asked about GPX files was different.
I am aware of the functionality of CludGO.

Instead, I wanted to know if, since it is possible to send a GPX from smartphone to Trail ....... if it was possible to do the opposite operation, ie GPX files from TRAIL to Smartphone WITHOUT the use of GO and WITHOUT the use of PC.

What you say seems very strange to me, but thank you for the information.
In the family we have ONLY Huawei smartphones, so I cannot verify otherwise.
    Thank you and good day

In addition, to do without PC Link is not essential, it is possible to do without.

By assumption, you have a SmartPhone and you are in the 4G or 5G zone:

    - The creation of a link to the GO Cloud page on the SmartPhone allows the traces to be sent to any recipient as with a PC. You can also load tracks from the internet or another application.

    - If you place your SmartPhone as a WiFi access point, the link to or from the GPS is established.

Without PC and without LINK ..

    Good Hikes

Thanks for the advice, I'll do a test with GO, but I would have liked to be able to pass files via Bluetooth or cable without the need for a network, wifi and Cloud.

As for the NOTIFICATIONS I can say with certainty that IT DOESN'T WORK correctly !!!!!
in fact today I tried with a Samsung smartphone .......
    The sms are NOT notified
    Telephone calls are NOT notified
    Only whatsapp messages are notified.
So I would say that the LINK app or the Trail2 software work badly and that it is NOT dependent on the phone model.

    Hello,

I just did a specific test to answer you.

The GPS following a free route,
The SmartPhone in BT range (Green light in link)

Yes I receive text messages on the Trail 2 screen, "Nokia" Smartphone, Android 12.

Hello, thanks for the test but I would like to make a clarification.
Smartphones are 30% Apple and 70% Android, at least here in Italy.
The best-selling and most popular are by far Samsung and Huawei.
Of all the people I know and hang out with for work or privately, I don't know a single person who uses Nokia.
This is to say, a revision of the app or of the Trail2 firmware is necessary because it is not possible that the notifications do not work with the majority of smartphones on the market.
    good evening
