Adjusting the IP adress at Aventura
Hi,
I have a problem to connect my Aventura via WiFi. I suppose that results from the device waiting for receiving an IP adress from a DHCP server. But I use a professional network where all connected devices have a static IP adress. The DHCP server is switched off. Switching it on would lead to a total unoperatable network, that is no option.
How can I adjust a static IP adress in my Aventura? Or how can I update it via a connected cable at the USB port?
Thanks and best regards,
Ralf

Hi,
when will it be possible to set a static IP address? I still have the problem not being able to use my network. With any cheap primitive mobile phone I can set the IP address, but not with such an expensive professional GPS device. This just can't be.
Kind regards,
Ralf

Hi Ralf,
the only unique address for each device in the world is the mac-address.
Therefore you can use the mac address for identification.
I have tested it today with my TRAIL2. At my home network, where Fritzbox is working as DHCP-server, i added a fixed ip-address combined with the mac address of my TRAIL2. Coming to my company, I logged in into the network and got an ip-from the company DHCP there. Now being back at home and logged in to my home network, my TRAIL2 is connected with the fixed ip-address i gave him yesterday.
