Sometimes, while navigating a mountain route, we want to compare the surrounding terrain between two or more maps to assess which is the best path or other situations we might encounter...
The information provided by maps can vary depending on the type of map (topographic, orthophoto...) or its level of detail.
How do I do it?
Very easy, we explain how to configure it:
- Add the 'Alternate maps' tool: By default, this tool is not in the toolbar, so we need to add it manually from: 'Menu > Settings > Activity Profiles > Map view > Toolbar > Alternate maps'
- Open the maps that interest you the most: Next, we open the maps we want. We recommend opening 2 or 3 maps at most.
Note: The 'Alternate maps' function makes the map on the top layer move to the bottom, and consequently, the one that was in the second layer now moves to the top. Keep in mind that vector maps (TomTom and OSM) will always be displayed above other maps, and 3D terrains will be shown below the rest.
- Switch maps during navigation: Now that we have everything configured, when we want to switch maps, we just need to open the 'Tools' mode by tapping on the map and the 'Alternate maps' button.
