Delta has 3 software levels:
- eBoot: Starting component which runs the operating system.
- Operating system: Executed under TwoNav and controling the more basic operations of the device.
- TwoNav: Executed over the operating system and interacting with user.
Normally, software updates are for TwoNav, but eBoot and operating system can also have updates.
Important:
- The user should know that this is a delicate process. It must be applied correctly, otherwise it could leave the unit unusable.
- In order to avoid losing data during the updating process, please copy all your personal files contained in 'TwoNavData/Data' to computer (security copy).
- Updates might take some minutes, you might need to wait so left the device working until further steps are being indicated.
- Enough battery is needed to update the operating system, at least 30 min.
- Battery cover must be closed, so no irreparable damages at the operating system might be applied.
In order to update the eBoot and the operating system of Delta, please follow these steps:
Note: eBoot process must be updated first and then restart the application. Once restarted, the update of the operating system can be done. This is the right order to update, otherwise the operating system might lose the identifier and the license. Operating system update process will delete all files stored in the internal memory.
eBoot update:
1. Unzip DELTA EBOOT. Copy EBOOT.NB0 file at the main root of the microSD card.
Note: Use a microSD with Windows XP formated FAT32 card
2. Place the microSD card inside the device.
3. Restart the device, the update of eBoot will start automatically (it takes 1 second).
4. A message will be displayed ("Update eBoot success 100%").
5. To verify that your eBoot has been successfully updated you can check it out at 'Main menu > Settings > Full settings > System > Device > About'.
6. Once the update is finished, you might need to re-calibrate the screen of your device.
7. Once the update is finished, you can delete the files that you unzipped in the microSD card.
Operating system update:
1. In order to avoid losing data during the updating process, please copy all your personal files contained in 'TwoNavData/Data' to computer (security copy).
2. Unzip DELTA_OPERATING SYSTEM, copy files at the main root of the microSD card.
Note: Use a microSD with Windows XP formated FAT32 card
3. Place the microSD card inside the device.
4. Restart the device, the update of operating system will start automatically (it takes 2 minutes).
5. The process is based on 4 parts, once the last part is done, remove microSD and delete the files which were used to update the operating system from the root of the microSD card.
6. Restore all your personal files to 'TwoNavData/Data' folder.
7. To verify that your operating system has been successfully updated you can check it out at 'Main menu > Settings > Full settings > System > Device > About'.
8. Once the update is finished, you might need to re-calibrate the screen of your device. After the update is done, several GPSParam files are kept at the main root of the internal memory of the device. These files should not be removed as they are used to improve the sensitivity of the GPS.
