To learn more about what waypoints and waypoint collections are, see the article What is a Waypoint and a Waypoint Collection.
In this article, we will look at the properties of waypoints:

| Text background transparency | The 'Text background transparency' property depends on the 'Text background color' property. The Transparency property will only appear if the Text background color property is specifically defined in that list. In other words, if the Transparency property does not appear, set a value for the Text background color, and then it will appear. | |
| Text position | Position of the waypoint text (Up, Down, Left, Right) | |
| Icon position | Position of the waypoint icon (Elevated, Centered, Centered and without background) | |

| Icon background color | Background color behind the waypoint icon | |
| * View icon | Show or hide the waypoint icon | |
| * View name | Show or hide the waypoint name | |
| * View description | Show or hide the waypoint description | |
| * View altitude | Show or hide the waypoint altitude | |
| * Show radius | Show or hide the radius around the waypoint | |
| Zoom level | Map zoom level when viewing the waypoint | |
Associated |
File1 | File associated with this waypoint |
* The show/hide properties are set together as default or not. So, if they are set as default, and one is edited, the others will stop taking the default value too. And, if one is set as default, all the others will be set as default too.
Appearance of Waypoints
The properties in the 'View' section allow you to configure the visual appearance of waypoints in many ways and work with a practical inheritance system (see special articles in Land and TwoNav):
Waypoint Files
These are the properties of individual waypoints, but waypoint files or collections also have their own properties:
- File name
- Number of waypoints
- Associated
- Waypoints default values (default 'View' values for waypoints included in that file)
