How to request a refund for a purchase made in the App stores (Apple/Google)

What is the difference between cancelling auto-renewal and requesting a refund?

• Cancel auto-renewal: you prevent your subscription from renewing automatically on the next billing date. You will continue to have access to the service until the end of the period you have already paid for.

• Request a refund: you ask Google or Apple to return the money for the purchase. If it is approved, the amount is refunded and access to the service is cancelled before the expiry date.

How to cancel auto-renewal?

On Google Play (Android)

1. Open the Google Play Store app.

2. Tap your profile (top right).

3. Go to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

4. Select your subscription.

5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.
   👉 You will receive an email confirming that the subscription will not be renewed.

In the App Store (iOS)

1. Open the Settings app on your device.

2. Tap your name > Subscriptions.

3. Select the subscription.

4. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.

👉 Apple will send you an email confirming the cancellation of auto-renewal.

How to request a refund?

On Google Play

1. Google handles refunds centrally on its support website.
   The simplest process is to follow these steps:

4. In the assistant you must:

   1. Select the product you want to return.

   2. Indicate the reason for your request.

   3. Submit the form.

5. 👉 Google will send you an email with the outcome.
   The refund may be approved or rejected according to their policies.

In the App Store (iOS)

1. Apple manages refunds directly from its support website.
   The simplest process is as follows:

3. From there, go to the purchases management portal:
   👉 reportaproblem.apple.com

4. Sign in with your Apple ID (the same one you used for the purchase).

5. Select the purchase you want to return.

6. Click Request a refund, choose the reason and confirm.

7. 👉 Apple will review your case and, after a few days, notify you whether the refund has been approved or rejected.

❌ What happens if the refund is rejected?

• The payment is not returned.

• The subscription will remain active until the expiry date (if you did not cancel it).

• We cannot issue refunds outside the stores.
