If your computer does not detect your GPS device when connected via USB, there may be several reasons for this.
Listed here are some options to test and rule out that the problem is caused by one of these reasons:
-
Connect with the GPS device on.
- Connect with the GPS device off.
-
Try other cables, and make sure they are good data cables.
- The connection must be to a USB-A computer port (the big one). A connection to a USB-C computer port (the small one) will not work.
-
Try other USB ports, and no USB HUB if in use.
-
It is possible that the computer's ports do not supply enough power. In this case try connecting to a powered USB Hub.
-
Try other computers to rule out a hardware problem.
If after trying these options the computer still does not recognize the device, it is probably a hardware problem, and in that case you must 'Submit a request'.
