As of version 5.0, TwoNav Android uses the folders designated by the operating system. This is a GooglePlay requirement for recent and future versions of Android.
These folders are located inside Android/Data, both in the internal memory and in the SD. Specific:
- In the TwoNav Free App:
- Internal memory:
- Maps : Android/Data/com.compegps.twonav/files/TwoNavData/Maps
- Other files (tracks, waypoints...) : Android/Data/com.compegps.twonav/files/TwoNavData/Data
- SD card
- Maps: Android/Data/com.compegps.twonav/files
- Other files (tracks, waypoints ): At the moment they are not read.
- Internal memory:
- En la App TwoNav Premium (same as Free, but adding 'full' in the App folder)
- Internal memory:
- Maps : Android/Data/com.compegps.twonavfull/files/TwoNavData/Maps
- Other files (tracks, waypoints...) : Android/Data/com.compegps.twonavfull/files/TwoNavData/Data
- SD card
- Maps: Android/Data/com.compegps.twonavfull/files
- Other files (tracks, waypoints ): At the moment they are not read.
- Internal memory:
The data that TwoNav will detect will be those found in these folders. You can add files to these folders in different ways:
- Automatically: Files will be added to these folders:
- When you create files from TwoNav (e.g. tracks, waypoints).
- When you download tracks from 'my routes online' or 'discover routes online'
- When you install maps from the TwoNav map store
- When transferring files from Land computer software
- Manually*: You can copy files directly to these folders:
- With file management apps available for most mobiles
- By plugging the mobile into a computer, so that you can manage the contents of its memory with the computer's file explorer.
In addition to using the files found in these folders, files can be opened from other applications (WhatsApp, email, Internet explorer, file manager ...). For example, if you have a file in 'Downloads', you can select it and, if it is in a format compatible with TwoNav (TRK, GPX ...) you can choose the TwoNav App to open it.
* Note: Some phones, especially Samsung with OneUI3, do not allow access to these App folders, so files cannot be added manually for TwoNav to read. We are studying ways to overcome this difficulty. At the moment, some alternatives are known that will work according to the particularities of each phone:
- Use a file management app with special permissions, such as x-plore or total commander.
- Connect the phone to a Windows computer via USB. Most phones allow you to manage Android / Data files in internal memory in this way.
- Access to Android / Data on the SD is often blocked by the system, even when connecting the phone via USB, and you may need to remove it from the phone and connect it directly to the computer in order to move files.

Twonav upgrades to V 5.0.3 but FAILS to move the existing maps/tracks as described. (On Galaxy A5, Android 11)
Several problems result:
- existing maps and tracks are not visible/selectable/loadable by Twonav
- old map/track filese are left in the original, unreachable folders
- Land 7 and Land 8 on PC still "see" the old files on the phone as available forTwonav, while they are not. Files are added/deleted in the OLD locations (-> no effect). Land and Twonav live in separate worlds...
- manually adding the files into the NEW locations results in Twonav correctly accessing them (but NOT land from PC!)
