One of the most complete ways to analyze a track in Land is by opening the properties window. In this window you can review all the information that was stored in the track while it was being recorded. There you’ll find a large amount of data that will help you assess the difficulty of the route (times, distances, altitudes, speeds, energy...). From the track properties you can also change the appearance of the track that you have open on the map.
Open the properties window
Once you have the track open, you can show or hide the track properties window in two ways:
-
Toolbar button: click the corresponding icon to open or close the window.
-
Right-click on an object: right-click on the track you want to analyze and select “Properties.”

At the following link you can find a complete list of all track properties along with their definitions:
Particularities in Land
Quick actions
At the top of the properties window you will see quick-access buttons for the most common tasks: edit track, add roadbook points, view the graph, share...
Highlighted properties
At the top of the window you’ll see a summary of the most important values of the track so you can assess its difficulty at a glance. If you want to analyze the track in more detail, we recommend reviewing the other sections you’ll find below (times, distances, altitudes, speeds...).
Editable properties
Most properties are editable; the editable ones are identified by a pencil icon. For example, you can add a title to your activity or change the thickness or color of a track. To edit these properties, click the pencil or double-click the value.
Note: When you edit the “Average speed” field, Land will automatically recalculate dependent values such as the “Duration” field.
Tip: If we have multiple elements selected (e.g., waypoints or tracks), and we display the Properties, changes made to properties will affect all selected elements. That is, if we have 3 tracks selected, and we assign a color in properties, all 3 tracks will change to have that color.
Segment properties
If you want to dig deeper into your tracks, you can also analyze them by specific sections of the route, for example a climb or a flat section. You can find more information about working with segments in Segmented Tracks in Land
You can open a segment’s properties window from the segment’s context menu (right-click), either in the data tree or on the map. If the properties window is already open, simply selecting the segment in the tree will display its information in the properties window.
Default values for waypoints
In this section you define the default properties for the track’s roadbook points if they are not defined on the specific point. If they are not defined, Land will use these default properties.
