The TwoNav ecosystem is designed so that the user does not have to worry about complex coordinate systems or know their fundamentals.
Still, those who need to can adjust the system to their preferences and easily read or enter coordinates in any system.
Setting Up Coordinates
To adapt the way Land displays and manages coordinates, you can go to Preferences > Coordinates, where you can define various parameters:
- Coordinates Type (UTM, Lat / Long...)
- Degree Format (decimals, degrees...)
- Datum:
- Datum for display: For the coordinates that will be shown in Land
- Internal datum: The datum with which Land will work to render objects
- View datum list: To consult the list of available datums, or even add new ones
Primary map mode: Serves as a reference to render all others.
If several maps with different coordinate systems are opened, the primary map will be the one that sets the reference.
The other maps will adapt as best as possible, which in some cases may cause slight distortions.
Consulting Coordinates
- Status Bar: At the bottom of the Land window is the status bar, which always shows the coordinates of the point where the cursor is located:
- Waypoint Properties: When creating a new waypoint, its coordinates can be viewed from the properties window:
Entering Coordinates
Creating a New Waypoint
Click on the New Waypoint function in the toolbar to create a new waypoint:
A window appears where you can enter the coordinates:
The waypoint will be displayed in the map window, at the indicated position:
This waypoint will remain visible and will serve as a reference as long as you need it
When it is no longer necessary, you can delete it
Locate Coordinates Function
Click on the option Menu > View > Locate coordinates:
A window appears where you can manually enter the coordinates:
The map will center on the indicated point, without the need to create a new waypoint.
