Land allows you to open online maps, which are not downloaded in their entirety. Instead, a reference file is installed that downloads the map tiles as they are needed.
To install these reference files, go to 'Maps > Install online maps' in the data tree.
In the article Online maps, you will find a description of the types of maps available.
Open the folder you are interested in and double-click the map you want to install.
The map will be downloaded and opened.
It will then load its sections as you move around it.
These downloaded sections are saved in a temporary folder so they do not have to be downloaded again each time you want to view that area.
You can configure the maximum size of this folder to prevent it from taking up too much space on your computer (Preferences > Maps > Maximum storage size for the cache folder). When it reaches the maximum, the oldest map tiles will be deleted.
Once downloaded, the map reference file will remain saved in the maps folder on your computer, and you can open it just as you open any other map.
