Land 10 can open maps in numerous formats. You can consult the complete list of supported formats in this article Map compatibility in Land.
By default, the program automatically loads two online reference maps:
- World_Base_Map.cosm
- World_Base_Relief.cwdem
These serve as a good base to start working. Afterwards, you can open more maps, either by downloading them yourself or purchasing them directly in the TwoNav Map Store.
Ways to open maps
-
From the toolbar: using the maps button.
-
From the menu: Maps>Open Map.
-
From the data tree, section Stored Maps: double-click on the map or right-click Open this map.
-
From visible frames on the map: double-click on the frame or right-click Open this map.
- From outside Land: by dragging a file into the program or double-clicking on it.
Note on online maps: The maps you have already opened will be saved in the Stored Maps folder. If you have never opened them, you must first download them from the Online Maps section. More information about online maps.
Managing open maps
All loaded maps will be shown in the data tree (see article about the Data tree).
- You can close a map with the X.
- You can hide or show a map with the eye icon.
Importing maps
Some maps cannot be opened directly because they lack information (for example, the type of coordinates). In such cases, Land 10 will try to detect the missing information and display the Import window, where you can complete the data.
You can also start this process manually from the menu: Menu>Maps>Import.
