The main menu and the toolbars contain most of Land’s functions.
Main menu
In the main menu, there are different tools that we will explore in other articles, but we highlight the 'File' menu, where we find file management functions (open, close, save, import…), access to the 'Preferences' window, and the Print tool:
User menu
There is also the User menu, which, when expanded, provides access to purchased products and connected services:
Toolbars
There is a main toolbar (horizontal) and a map toolbar (vertical), which contain various shortcuts to important functions:
Many of the tools will be covered in other articles, but we highlight the following main tool blocks:
- Show/Hide windows (Data Tree, Properties, Graph, Favorites):
- Quick access to Open files (Tracks and Maps):
- Undo/Redo (e.g., delete created waypoint / recover deleted waypoint):
- Quick access to create a new Track or edit an open one:
- Quick access to create a new Waypoint:
In addition to the main toolbar and the map toolbar, when creating a new Track or editing an existing one, the Track creation and editing toolbar appears:
The map toolbar and the track creation and editing toolbar are displayed in floating mode by default, maximizing the available map space. You can change this behavior by right-clicking on the corresponding toolbar.
Customize the toolbars
By default, the toolbars contain a selection of the most relevant functions, organized in the way we consider most suitable for most users. However, they can be customized by right-clicking on them and selecting the ‘Customize....’ option:
In the window that appears, you can remove tools from the toolbar, add new ones, and change their order:
Additionally, you can customize the appearance of each button by right-clicking on it:
Assign color: Choose a color to highlight the button and visually distinguish it from the others.
Show/hide text: Choose whether to display the function name next to its icon.
Dark mode
Land allows you to switch between light and dark modes to adapt the interface to your preferences and lighting conditions.
You can enable or disable dark mode from Main menu > View > Dark mode.
