The graph window in Land is one of the most powerful tools for analyzing one or multiple tracks in detail. It allows you to study elevation, speed, heart rate, pace, and other parameters recorded during the activity. Use the graph to detect key sections of your route: steep climbs, recovery zones, navigation errors...
Open the graph window
To open the graph of the track you want to analyze, first select it in the data tree and then use any of these options:
Click the 'Graph Window' button on the toolbar.
Right-click on the track and select 'Graph Window' from the context menu.
Graph elements
Marker
The marker always indicates the exact distance or time of a point on the graph. When moving the mouse over the curve, the marker updates showing the precise position.
Reference point
The graph window is synchronized with the map:
The point you highlight on the graph will automatically be shown on the map.
The point you mark on the map will be highlighted on the graph.
By clicking on that point, Land will show you detailed information such as distance traveled, time, and altitude of the location.
Roadbook points
If your track includes roadbook points (directions, warnings, or navigation notes), these will also appear on the graph, helping you identify their position on the route profile.
Actions on the graph
From the context menu
Right-clicking on a point of the track within the graph opens a context menu, which includes especially useful functions:
Zoom here: centers that point on the map.
New > Create roadbook point: adds a new roadbook point directly at the indicated location.
From the button bar
Use the buttons found on the side of the graph to zoom into an area of the graph. Once zoomed, you can scroll horizontally through the graph by dragging the mouse. If you wish, you can also zoom independently on the X and Y axes.
Press the "View all" button to restore the full view of the graph.
About the axes
If, besides analyzing the default data shown (altitude/distance), you want to analyze other data, you can customize which parameters are displayed on the X and Y axes of the graph by clicking on each axis or from the Land settings by selecting 'File > Preferences > View > Graph':
X axis: Toggle between time or distance.
Y axis: Allows displaying different parameters such as altitude, speed, heart rate, power... To add or remove a parameter, select it and use the left/right arrow keys.
Multi-parameter graphs
It is possible to visualize several parameters at once on the Y axis. For example, overlay altitude with heart rate to analyze how elevation affected your physical performance.
Multitrack
The graph window shows all loaded and visible tracks. Clicking on a track in the graph (or in the tree) will highlight it with its color and fill it, making it easier to compare multiple routes.
If you hide the track in the data tree (uncheck the 'eye'), the track will also be hidden in the graph.
