Create a Waypoint Collection (Waypoint File)
We can create a new waypoint file from various locations within Land:
From the Main Menu
Select the option from the main menu: "File > New > New Waypoint File"
From the Data Tree
To create a new waypoint file from the data tree, use the context menu in the Waypoints section. Right-click on the Waypoints section and select the option "New Waypoint File".
Active Waypoint File
In Land, we can work with multiple waypoint collections (waypoint files) at the same time. Since this situation may arise, Land needs to know in which collection to save a waypoint when it is created. This is where the active waypoint file comes into play.
Basic Mode of Active Waypoint File
By default, Land will have a fixed active collection. This means that it will always save waypoints in the active collection. If you haven't changed it, it will save them in the "Waypoints.wpt" file. If another waypoint file is open but not active, and you create a waypoint, Land will display a warning message indicating that it will open the active file and save the waypoint in it:
Advanced Mode of Active Waypoint File
We can configure Land to consider the first opened file as the active one. This means that if multiple waypoint files are opened, Land will consider the first one opened as the active file, and any newly created waypoints will be saved in that file.
Changing the Active Waypoint File Mode
From Land's preferences, we can change how Land handles active waypoint files. To modify this setting, access the preferences menu: "File > Preferences".
