Waypoints can contain associated files, such as images, sounds, or texts. These files are useful for enriching the information of each waypoint. For example, you can link a photo of the place or a detailed description of the point in Land.
How to Associate Files
You can associate files to a waypoint in different ways:
From the properties window: Open the waypoint properties and click on the 'Associated' tab to add the file.
From the tree or the map: Right-click and select 'Associated on the waypoint'.
From the file explorer: Drag the file directly to the waypoint in the data tree, on the map, or in the properties window.
Opening Associated Files
To open a file associated with a waypoint, expand the waypoint in the data tree and double-click the file. You can also right-click and select 'Open' on the file.
Removing Associated Files
If a waypoint has associated files that you no longer need, you can easily delete them from different places in Land. Deleting an associated file does not delete the waypoint, it only removes the link to the corresponding file.
- From the data tree: Expand the waypoint and use any of these options:
- Hover over the associated file and click the X.
- Right-click and select 'Remove' on the associated file.
- Select the associated file and press the 'Delete' key.
- From the properties window: Locate the associated file and press the X.
Managing Associated Files in Roadbook Points
The waypoints embedded in a track (also called roadbook points) can have associated files, just like independent waypoints. During navigation in TwoNav, when approaching a roadbook point, the associated files will play automatically, displaying or playing the linked information (image, sound, text, etc.).
Add, Remove, or Open Associated Files
The associated files of a roadbook point can be managed in the same way as normal waypoints, with the difference that they are inside the track rather than in a separate waypoint file.
You can also access the list of roadbook points from the data tree by right-clicking on the track and selecting 'Edit > Edit roadbook'.
Rich Description
A rich description is a special type of associated file that allows you to add formatted text (bold, colors, sizes, links, etc.) and save it in HTML format. To create a rich description, follow these steps:
Right-click on the waypoint from the data tree or from the map.
Select 'Associated > Create rich description'.
An editor will open to write the description with styling tools.
Sending Associated Files
Associated files can be sent along with the track to your TwoNav device or to the TwoNav Cloud:
TwoNav GPS (via USB): When sending the track, a prompt will appear asking if you also want to send the associated files.
TwoNav Cloud (via internet): Your associated files will be uploaded to the cloud and from there you can download the associated files to any of your TwoNav devices via Wi-Fi.
