In Land you can create waypoints easily and keep all your points of interest neatly organised in different waypoint collections.
From the map window
The quickest and simplest way to create a waypoint is from the map window, as you don’t need to enter any coordinates. To be able to create a waypoint, you must have some element open, such as a map, a track or a waypoint file, so that Land can georeference the data.
-
Centre the map on the area where you want to create the waypoint.
- Right-click on the exact point where you want to create the waypoint and select 'New > Create new waypoint here'.
- The waypoint will be created and the properties window will open, showing the properties of the new waypoint.
- Edit any properties you want, such as the waypoint name and icon.
From the toolbar
You can also create a waypoint from the Land toolbar.
- On the toolbar, click the 'New waypoint' button.
- Fill in the data for the new waypoint in the window that appears and click 'Create'.
- Using the cursor, move the mouse to the point where you want to place the waypoint. Click the left mouse button to set the waypoint on the map.
From the main menu
You can also create a waypoint from coordinates you already have.
- In the main menu, select 'File > New > New waypoint'.
- Fill in the data for the new waypoint in the window that appears and click 'Create'.
Important: When you create a new waypoint, by default Land saves it in the active waypoint file. Learn more about waypoint collections
