What is a roadbook?
TwoNav has developed the concept of a ‘digital roadbook’, which consists of enriching a track with relevant information at certain points, ideal for both sports outings and tourist or exploration routes.
Various uses for digital roadbooks:
- Knowing which manoeuvres you must perform at each moment
- Seeing a point of interest to visit (hermitage, spring, scenic viewpoints…)
- Seeing a hazard point or caution area on the route
- Opening images and enhanced descriptions attached to a point on the route
Roadbooks created in Land will be fully integrated into your navigation on TwoNav devices, showing relevant information at the right moment without you having to check the map constantly

Create a roadbook
The foundation of a roadbook is the ‘roadbook points’, which are waypoints embedded in a track and mark relevant places along the itinerary. When a track contains roadbook points, we can consider it a roadbook. In Land you can create roadbook points in several ways.
With Right-click
At any point of the track on the map, right-click and select ‘New > Create roadbook point here’.
The roadbook point will be placed where you right-clicked, and then you can fill in the basic information for the roadbook point.
From the Track Editor
From the track editor toolbar, in the track editor click the ‘Add roadbook point’ tool. Then fill in the basic information of the point and mark its location on the track.
From the Icon Library
It is the fastest way to create the points if you want to create several quickly.
You only need to open the icon library and drag the icon you want to the correct position on the track (if you drag it outside the track, it will create a loose waypoint). To open the icon library, follow any of these steps:
-
Open the roadbook editor: Right-click and select ‘Edit > Edit roadbook’. The table listing the roadbook points will open, as well as the icon library. If you wish, you can close the table and keep only the library open.
-
Open only the icon library: This function is not visible by default but can be added by customizing the toolbar. Right-click on it and add it.
View and manage roadbook points
Once created, roadbook points appear:
-
In the data tree, inside the track (if there are sections, they will appear inside the corresponding section).
-
In the roadbook points table, accessible by right-clicking on the track and selecting ‘Edit > Edit roadbook’.
If you want to go deeper into customizing roadbook points, read this article: Modify roadbook (appearance and properties)
Delete roadbook points
If you want to delete any roadbook point, right-click and select ‘Delete roadbook point’. You can do it from the data tree, on the map, or in the roadbook points table…
Note: You can delete multiple roadbook points simultaneously by making a multiple selection in the data tree, holding the ‘Control’ key (you will select them one by one) or ‘Shift’ (you will select them in a block).
