When editing a track, one of the most common tasks is to delete specific points or entire sections of the route. This allows you to correct recording errors, clean up unnecessary parts, or adjust the track to your needs (for example, shorten the route or remove detours).
Below, we show you the different ways to delete points or blocks of points in Land:
Delete individual points
1. Using right-click on the point
- Right-click on the point you want to delete on the map.
- Select the option Edit > Delete point.
2. Using the Delete Points tool
- Activate the Delete Points tool from the track editing toolbar (see article Create and edit tracks)
- Click directly on the point you want to delete.
This tool is useful if you need to delete several scattered points, one by one.
3. Point selection + 'Delete' key
-
Activate the Selection from the track editing toolbar.
-
Click on a point to select it > Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Once you delete a point this way, the next point is automatically selected. You can press the Delete key several times to quickly remove points in sequence.
Delete points in bulk
1. Using the Selection mode tool
-
Activate the Selection mode tool
- Select a group of points on the track > Right-click on the selection.
- Choose the option Delete track points.
This option is ideal for cleaning up entire sections at once.
2. Delete a complete SubTrack ( SubTracks)
If you have divided your track into several SubTracks, you can easily delete an entire one:
- Select the SubTrack you want to delete.
- Right-click Subtrack > Delete Subtrack
3. Delete a complete lap (Track Laps in Land)
If you have divided your track into several laps, you can easily delete a complete one:
- Select the section you want to delete.
- Right-click Laps > Delete this lap
4. From the point list
-
Open the track’s point list.
- Hold the Shift key to select a block of consecutive points. (The selected points will also be highlighted on the map.)
-
Right-click and select Delete point, or press the Delete key.
This method is especially useful if you prefer to work in table mode or need more precision when selecting.
