In Land, track editing mode activates a specific toolbar that allows you to create and modify the route directly on the map. These tools are focused on route editing, such as adding, moving, or deleting points, or even splitting and adjusting sections.
There are other functions that allow modifying aspects not related to the track's route (such as times, elevations, or speeds), which are applied from the context menu or other properties windows. These are covered in the article Advanced Track Editing Tools.
Undo
Allows you to revert the last action performed during track editing. When you click Undo, Land restores the state prior to the last change (creating, moving, or deleting a point), saving time and facilitating immediate error correction.
Step by step:
Click the Undo button or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Z to revert to the previous state.
Note: If you want to redo an undone action, you can do so from Edit > Redo or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Y.
New Track
Creates a new empty track to start drawing from scratch.
When you activate New Track, Land enters editing mode and activates the Add Points tool, allowing you to place route points directly on the map.
It is the ideal option to plan a completely new route.
More information: see the article Create a New Track.
Selection
The Selection tool allows you to select and move points of a track during editing. When the tool is activated, you can click on a specific point to select it and drag it to a new position on the map. It is also possible to select the entire track when several are open, to define which one will be active for editing.
It is an essential tool to precisely adjust the route, as it facilitates error correction or refining the position of points.
Step by step:
- Activate the Selection tool.
- Click on the point you want to select.
- Drag the point to move it or apply the action you need.
Tip: To select several consecutive points, select the first one, hold down the Shift key, and select the last one. Land will automatically select all intermediate points.
Add Points
The Add Points tool allows you to extend the route of a track from any existing point. Unlike other more automatic tools, this offers full control, as you can decide from which point of the track to continue the route and in which direction to add new points.
It is especially useful to lengthen a track, correct the route, or link it with a new section of the map, as it allows continuing the route forward or backward depending on the selected reference point.
Step by step:
- Select with the Selection tool the point from which you want to add new points.
- Activate the Add Points tool.
- Create the new points on the map following the desired route.
Note: Points created from the initial point of the track will be added “backwards,” extending the route from that end.
Add Intermediate Points
The Add Intermediate Points tool allows you to insert new points between existing ones in the route of a track. Land automatically detects the closest point to where you click and takes it as a reference to insert the new points.
It is a very practical tool to precisely adjust the route or adapt the track to the paths visible on the map, without needing to modify the rest of the route.
Step by step:
- Activate the Add Intermediate Points tool.
- Click on the map where you want to insert new points.
- Land will automatically add the points in the corresponding segment of the track.
Tip: This tool automatically selects the starting point for adding.
If you want to select it yourself and add points in any direction or angle, use Add Points.
Delete Points
The Delete Points tool allows you to directly delete one or more points from the route of a track. You just need to activate the tool and click on the points you want to delete. Land will automatically connect the previous and next points, maintaining route continuity.
It is a very useful tool to correct errors or clean up the route, for example, if a point is off the path or causes an undesired deviation.
Step by step:
- Activate the Delete Points tool.
- Click on the points you want to delete.
If the result is not as expected, use Undo to revert the changes.
More information: see the article Delete Track Points.
Draw Track
The Draw Track tool allows you to trace sections of a track continuously on the map, simply by dragging the cursor with the mouse.
It is a quick and visual way to create new tracks or adjust parts of an existing route, without needing to add points one by one.
It is especially useful for drawing long or curved routes, as Land automatically generates all the route points when you finish the stroke.
Step by step:
Activate the Draw Track tool.
Hold down the left mouse button and draw the section on the map, starting from an existing track point.
When you release the button, Land will create the route points and add the new section to the track.
Tip: To modify an existing section, select the first point from which you want to start the modification and draw to the end point. Land will automatically generate the new route, replacing the previous section.
Cut Track
The Cut Track tool allows you to split a track into several parts from a selected point. It is especially useful to separate sections of the route or keep only a part of the original path.
Step by step:
- Select with the Selection tool the point where you want to make the cut.
- Activate the Cut Track tool.
A window will appear with the following options:
- Split “By Track”: splits the original track into several independent tracks from the selected point.
- Split “By Segment”: creates new segments within the same track from the selected point, while keeping the original track.
- Cancel: closes the window without applying any changes.
Once the action is performed, the new tracks or segments will be shown in the data tree according to the selected option.
FastTrack
The FastTrack tool allows you to create or modify a track automatically, adjusting the route to the paths of the active map. It uses an algorithm that calculates the most suitable route between the points you define, generating a clean and precise route without the need to add points manually.
More information: see the article Create Routes Automatically (FastTrack) in Land.
Center Point
The Center Point feature allows you to keep the map automatically centered on the last created point during track editing. Each time a new point is added, the view adjusts to place it at the center of the screen.
You can activate or deactivate this option at any time, depending on whether you want to keep the current point reference or freely navigate the map.
Invert Track
The Invert Track tool allows you to change the direction of the route of an existing track. When applied, the end point becomes the start point and vice versa, completely reversing the order of all points.
Step by step:
- Select the track you want to invert, either from the map or from the data tree.
- Activate the Invert Track tool.
The route will change direction while maintaining all its properties (name, color, etc.).
Add Roadbook Point
The Add Roadbook Point tool allows you to insert points with additional information within the track, also called roadbook points. These points can include an icon, descriptive text, or an alert, and are used to mark turns, warnings, or relevant places that will appear during navigation on TwoNav devices.
Step by step:
- Click the Add Roadbook Point button.
- In the window that appears, adjust the point's aspects such as name or icon.
- Click on the map to place the roadbook point in the desired position.
Repeat this action for each roadbook point you want to create.
More information: see the article Create Roadbook (Mark Relevant Route Points).
Finish and Save Changes
When you finish editing, click the Finish Editing button on the toolbar. This will exit editing mode and apply the modifications to the track.
To save the changes:
- Right-click on the track, either in the data tree or directly on the map.
- Select File > Save Track.
The file will be updated with all modifications. If you prefer, you can save a copy with a different name via File > Save As... to also keep the original version.
Note: Manual saving is not necessary if you have the AutoSave feature enabled (enabled by default).
Properties
The Properties button allows you to access the track properties window, where you can view and modify its main data (such as name, route color, or activity type). It is especially useful to review and customize route details before saving or exporting it.
More information: see the article Track Properties in Land.
