Waypoints have numerous display properties to achieve optimal and configurable visualization, both for waypoint files and track roadbook points. (see complete list of waypoint properties)
These properties are within an inheritance system, so if a property is not defined in a specific waypoint, its value is sought in the file it belongs to. If it is also not defined in the file, it is looked for in the general settings.
If we want to modify the appearance of waypoints, we can do so from the general settings, and it will affect all waypoints that do not have specific information configured. With this system, it is not necessary to configure each waypoint, making it very easy and quick to adjust the appearance of all waypoints at any time.
The same properties are available in Land, TwoNav App, and TwoNav GPS devices.
In GPS/TwoNav App, we can find all these properties at each of these 3 configuration levels:
-
General configuration: Menu > Settings > Activity Profiles > Waypoints View
Note: These settings synchronize with GO Cloud, so they will be automatically set on all synchronized devices.
-
File properties (waypoints/track) > Waypoints default values
-
Waypoint properties > 'View' Section
In this last image, we can see the list of all configurable properties.
Values that are not defined, and therefore taken from the upper level, will be marked in parentheses as default (def.).
If at any time we want to revert a property to its default value, just long-press and select 'Take default from...'.
Note: The 'Text background transparency' property depends on the 'Text background color' property. The Transparency property will only appear if the Text background color is specifically defined in that list. That is, if the Transparency property does not appear, define a value for the Text background color, and then it will appear.
Roadbook Points (track waypoints)
The roadbook points (waypoints embedded in a track) include all the properties of waypoints, so they have the same options for customization, including the 'View' properties.
Detour and variant junction points are specially marked (blue), and do not allow configuration.
The general configuration that applies to roadbook points (track waypoints) is the same as for waypoints (Settings > Activity Profiles > Waypoints View).
